Fostered at fifteen to be abused again. My life was unbelievably chaotic until I stated to explore my own self awareness and internal conflict. It took years to over come. I met a couple genuine people who empowered me and directed me onto the the right path. My gratitude to them will always be remembered. My husband showed me consistency and stability it took years for me to trust him, and to understand he was not going to leave me. I have two beautiful children who are are confident and self aware. They are adults now and there world growing up was so different to mine thank god. At sixty I still have doubt about my abilities. I am a social worker myself and believe when I say I have worked in very demanding jobs however the job I do now facilitates clients with time and patience, compassion, and empathy. I advocate with assertiveness and demand there voice is heard through documentation and good communication. I heard myself in your feedback and it gave me hope that people can get up and fight back. Your feedback stopped in my tracks as the isolation not being heard or believed nearly destroyed me. Thank you so much for your thoughts. Finally on reliction today I know I am loved!! it was all I really ever wanted. Thank you again I have heard you clearly and feel i was put even more thought into my documentation. I will also once again become even stronger at being a listening ear.

Reading this though, I am not sure that my case notes would have reflected the work I did. Let’s have, as part of training, an understanding that the case notes belong to the child, not the system.
