When I used to do voluntary work, at the same care home as my gran, the quality of care was brilliant. That was in the early nineties. Lack of money/funding should be no excuse to care less. Yes, carers may get paid much less now, but it shouldn’t be an excuse to treat vulnerable people like rubbish. Get a second job, because the care sector will never be the way it once was. Let’s not pretend that it WILL ever be the same again.

As more and more people are being made aware of this travesty they are referring this injustice to the Ombudsman and getting positive results
This system has been set up jointly between the Local Authorities and the NHS and has resulted the the Public having to pay themselves for Nursing Care which was previously Free and should still be Free, this system is also causing bed blocking etc in the NHS and thereby not making the savings for the NHS as predicted.
The involvement of Providers is to be welcomed as in many cases the Public are unaware ,we have advised the NHS and the LAs on numerous occasions on behalf of the Public and in most cases been ignored.
I notice from the report that very few referrals have been made to the NHS under funding, why is this I wonder ?
