This is not just funding for foster carers but funding for the full system which includes sufficient monitoring of foster carers, fostered children and the whole system to ensure it is what it all should be. But as usual, government after government fails to see what is required, what is not working, what could be working better, and much more. But do governments fail to see or do they have no wish to see and unfortunately the latter is more correct in many instances.

But as I said it is not just foster care, but social care and many aspects of public health and while the N HS is funded to a degree, but again not sufficiently and the bureaucracy is so overboard, that at times the bureaucracy takes up too much time so time on practicalities is severely restricted.

This is too much bureaucracy from the government and too little funding from them, it is as though the vulnerable in the UK don’t count and perhaps that is what the government really believes. For, we see it in welfare benefits not being sufficient, and all aspects for the vulnerable and low-paid in employment. This is while the prime Minister and the Ministers have at least 2 jobs, being MPs and then Ministers, surely being an MP needs to be full-time, let alone being Ministers and perhaps other unknown employments.

The system or systems are all wrong for they never favour the vulnerable and the low-paid, only the rich and powerful, is that really what democracy is all about?

Is this true? It would put me off if this is the case.

Fostering for me was both good and bad , I thrived to a degree but suffered through lack of SSD oversight . The sins they did not see or hear went unreported and know-one cared what I thought. It concerns me birth parents are not being held accountable enough ? Foster parents perhaps fear they can’t win for losing? Is Fostering the right way forward to address the complex needs of many of societies most vulnerable? Is it really just all down to money? A review of fostering with survivors, professionals and policy makers is over due!
